whether Passport can be renewed twice after H1B Petition is filled

My employer filled my h1b petition this year. After that my passport got damaged in rain so i renewed my
passport. so h1b petition is filled with my cancelled passport. Luckily I was selected in
H1B Lottery this year. While renew my passport i forgot to add my spouse name in passport. So following are my questions.

  1. Can I renew my passport again to add my spouse name.

  2. whether renew my passport will impact my case status.
