What happens if I leave H1B employer ? Do i need to re-initiate the H1B from beginning?

Hello,

My employer in India had done my visa and I went to USA. My visa ended on 31 May and I returned to India and resigned from the employer in India. Does my new employer have to start to get the new H1B from beginning - including the undecided lottery system?

I have heard that if one doesn’t utilize H1B for six years then one doesn’t go through the lottery system. But I’m not sure what happens if employer changes? Can someone please guide me

New employer can file cap-exempt petition for you using the old petition as reference. They need to submit copy of previous approval notice and payslips for the period you were in US.
