Im not an attorney and the views expressed here is based on my personal experience. If you received a status update saying “we updated your date of birth for your Form I-129 Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker…”, you don’t need to fret. It most likely means that an immigration officer has started working on your application. This status certainly doesn’t increase likelihood of getting an RFE.
In my case, I applied for H1B extension based on an approved I-140 in premium processing. Following were my time lines:
Applied for extension: 11/17/2017
Case received by USCIS: 11/20/2017
Status update "“we updated your date of birth for your Form I-129 Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker…” on 11/20/2017
Another status update “Case Was Approved And My Decision Was Emailed” on 11/30/2017
