How can I get the option for Gujarati language for a visitor visa at the Mumbai Consulate?
It currently only offers English as an option.
How can I obtain a translator for the visa process?
Applicants speaking languages other than Hindi and English may request interpretation assistance upon arrival at the Embassy or Consulate. Requests for interpretation assistance should be made during the intake process prior to the interview. Please keep in mind that English language proficiency is required to qualify for certain visa classifications.
Interpretation services are subject to availability. If we do not have an interpreter available, we may ask you to return at a later date. Applicants requiring interpretation services are encouraged to apply at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate closest to the location where their native language is spoken, as it is more likely an interpreter will be available. Applicants may not bring their own translator to their visa appointment.
To assist U.S. Embassy and Consulate staff and ensure a fair and efficient interview process, applicants applying as a family should request a language understood and spoken by all family members.
