My employer filed an H1B for me in 2014. It was approved and I797 was issued. I went back home and had some family issues. Could not join the company. Never stamped the H1B visa. Now, My employer wants to bring me with the same I797, that was issued in 2014. The employer has not revoked or cancelled the petition. Will there be any problem in the process? Or I could just be fine.
You can appear for stamping and then travel to US once everything is approved.
Take a more recently dated offer letter from employer. Also take other documents like client/project letter carrying a more recent date. If the project/client changes to another location, then new LCA and H-1 amendment is required prior to stamping.
