Travelling to India with just filed H1-B amendment

Hi Experts, I have an approved petition from Texas which is valid till Apr, 2020 but my Visa Stamp has expired in June, 2017. Now I have moved to a new state Georgia and received my LCA and H1-B amendment filing proof (case number). My employer and attorney confirmed that I can travel to India with pending amendment and get my Visa re-stamped with amendment receipt number. In fact lots of guys got their Visa stamped with their pending amendment but I am not sure if I do so, how consulate officers will determine my I-94 since the valid I-94 is from Texas and I don’t have Georgia I-94 yet. Could you please give me some real idea.

Please note that, I am told to put my pending Amendment case number in DS-160.
