Hi I need to Travell in may after applying for H1B in april i am in opt which is valid till feb 8 2014. Is this ok or do I need to be specific with my employer regarding applying. Thanks Santhosh
If you travel while H-1 is pending, then your COS from F-1 to H-1 will be abandoned. So if you want to start working on H-1 from Oct 1, I suggest filing your petition w/ premium processing. If your H-1 gets approved w/ COS before you leave US, then you can still return on F-1/OPT and still be on H-1 from Oct 1.
