Traveling to India after OPT and before CPT

Hello,

So my H1B application was not picked in the lottery. My extended OPT (from a reputed University) expires in September 2013.

I am planning to enroll into a lesser university for January 2014 in a management program that will also give me a CPT starting the same time.

I had to travel to India September to December and come back in January to start school and resume job. While in India I will have to go for F1 visa stamping in Mumbai. Do you think my F1 visa will be rejected given the nature of my case?

This is surely a red flag. Be careful before you join the “lesser” University.

see if the seniors for that university have got their H1. CPT from first sem is legal only under some circumstances.

Many people have got their H1B rejected because of these scams! USCIS has become more vigilant.

As far as I see the visa officer will ask you the reason for your 2nd masters! Be ready to answer those.
