Hello redbus2us community,
I am on H1B visa and my visa is valid till 2020. My US based company has assembly plants in Mexico and I am supposed to travel to Mexico and work from the plant for 2 months. Is there any issue staying outside the US for two months? Would it be an issue at land port of entry in El Paso?
This would not have been a problem a few months back but you have to be safe these days. This is an employer based activity so they need to issue a letter to CBP / USCIS which states that you are being sent abroad on assignment. This letter must receive an acknowledgement stamp from the local consulate and at port of exit if travelling by road. I would take the letter personally to local consulate and talk to them.
