Travel back to US with newly approved I797 and H1B visa stamp expiring in few days

My H1B stamp on passport expires 1/2/2026.
My I-94 expires 1/12/2026.
My new I-797 is valid from 1/3/2026 till 1/02/2029 with attached I-94 expiry as 1/02/2029

If I travel now to India and come back to US without H1b stamping before 1/2/2026, will CBP issue new I-94 to me with expiry as 1/2/2026 based on existing H1B stamp expiry or 1/12/2026 based on old I-94 or 1/02/2029 based on new I-797 and its attached I-94?

Will there be any issue or risk while entering US again before 1/2/2026?

If CBP issues new I-94 based on existing H1B stamp expiry or based on old I-94, is there any way to correct that with CBP or any other website to match with new approved I-797 I94 expiry date?

Same case with my friend. At port of Entry, they only see VISA stamping dates and update I-94 accordingly. Your I-94 record will get overwrite with your stamping dates. Once you enter in US, you can go to CBP office before I-94 expiry (1/2/2026) and show the latest I-797 to update your I-94 record. I am not sure about the process at CBP office but one thing I am sure that your I-94 will be updated at POE with 1/2/2026 date and they don’t consider your I-797 at POE. Later you have to go to CBP office to make corrections.
