Transfer from L1 to H1 and extending the joining date for H1

Hi,

I’m at present working under L1 Visa for an employer in US and now i have the approved H1B from another company which is valid from 1st Oct 2012… In this case, is it possible for me to stay in L1 with current employer until Oct end and then join the new company in November under H1B

Is this possible and illegal by any chance?

It is better to stay with your current employer till October 2012 and then proceed with your COS.
