Timing for LCA filing for H1B Oct 2013

Hello,

I am on H4 visa. I wish to apply for H1b this year. I have some questions about it.

  1. How many days before April 1st 2013, employer can file LCA?

  2. Apart from LCA filing are there any other paperworks that we can try and get approved from USCIS before April 1st?

(I missed the H1B cap 2012-13 because my employer wasn’t failiar with process and thus didn’t file LCA before hand. So, for this year I want to make sure that all paperwork is done well in advance.)

  1. They can file it in March so that it gets approved in time for April 1 filing. Usually it takes 1-2 weeks for DOL to certify it.

  2. No. Only LCA needs to be certified and then they need to submit rest of the employer/employee documents.
