Ideally, you should work in an area releated to your field. You can also try to pick up something in urban forestry that uses technology. We really cannot say, if it would have impact…in my view, It should be independent. When filing H1B, USCIS could look at your employment history…But, they would pay more attention to the role you are applying to get H1B visa…
