Spouse Name mismatch in Passport and Marriage Certificate

Hi Admin,

I have a fresh approved H1B petition. I recently added my last name to my spouse name and have update the same in the passport ( It was simple name change due to marriage and I have Annexure D for the same, which I used to update the passport) . But in our marriage certificate, she still has her maiden name before marriage. My question is will there be an issue while H1B stamping?

Also, in my son’s (2year old) birth certificate, he name is maiden name before marriage. My question is will there be an issue while H1B stamping?

Please suggest is changing the above two documents is necessary? I have updated passport with changed name endorsed in my passport as well.

It should not be an issue. In the DS-160 form there is a question asking if you have ever been known by a different name. There you can mention the other name.
