My wife came to USA on March 10, 2016. For the FY 2015-16 I have already done my tax filing. Can I amend my 2015-16’s tax filing to include my wife as dependent (Married filing jointly).
Technically your wife is not a resident alien for the tax purpose for the FY 2015-16. So, you cant project her tax deduction in this route.
But alternatively being SPOUSE of a tax payer, you can consider her as a resident alien but she needs to disclose her world wide income.
