My wife is a Plant Molecular Biology PHD from Europe and she is currently on H4 dependent visa. She has been doing volunteer work in her field for the past few months. We filed for her H1B this year but unfortunately it didn’t get pick in the lottery so now we are exploring options to get her employed. The only option (I think) left now is to get her green card filed in EB1 category (either by us or through an employer) so wanted to check if an employer can directly file for her green card (bypassing the H1B approval process) in EB1 category (assuming she meets all reqs) and then she can work with them as soon as she gets the green card? Please let me know.
FYI: My green card process has not started yet.
