Question on 1 year visa fees validity for H1B Stamping in India

Hi,

I am currently in the USA on an H1B visa and will need to go for stamping during my next visit to India, as it has been over 8 years since I last traveled there.

I completed the DS-160 on May 14th, 2024, and paid the visa fees on May 19th, 2024. The receipt mentions that ā€œU.S. Visa fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, and can be used for scheduling an appointment within one year from the date of payment.ā€ Does this mean I need to secure an appointment within one year of May 19th, 2024, or does the actual interview need to take place within that time frame?

Iā€™m considering booking an appointment in June 2025 to fit our schedule. Can I do this using the current DS-160 and visa fee payment?

Please advise.

The interview must be scheduled within one year of fee payment and the visa interview date may be beyond 12 months from the date of fee payment, no issues.
