I hold a F-1 visa and will start working on my OPT next week.
My wife already has B1/B2 and she wants to come to US with me on the same visa and stay for few weeks before going back to the home country.
What questions can Immigration officer ask ? Can he deny entry stating that she should have come on F-2 visa ?

You are very fortunate that she has a visitor visa for travel. F-2 is not a easy visa approval category. Entry will not be denied, it is against the law, but duration of stay can be restricted to prevent your wife from changing visa status or requesting extension.
