Process to get passport if 221g is issued

Hi,

I would be going for visa processing in a couple of days. I have a query related to this - in case 221g is issued or the case goes under administrative processing without any proper notification, and the passport retained, what would be the process to get the passport back since I might need to travel for.my current organization in a month’s time.

I would be going for my interview in Kolkata consulate, hence, any pointers or information on this regard is highly appreciated.

If it is a very minor issue raised in 221g which requires them to retain passport so that it can be quickly stamped, we suggest leaving it with Embassy. If you think it might take longer, demand the passport back, it is your property and you have the legal right of access to it.
