Procedure for COS from L1B to L2 + EAD and timelines?


I’m on L1B visa from company Y and My spouse is also on L1B from company Y. My L1B visa and I94 expires in 2015 . There is a possibility that my projects might end by December 2012. So, I would like to move L2 and my husband’s comapny is ready to process the same. I have a few questions here:

  1. What is the procedure for the COS from L1 to L2?

  2. What are the documents required?

  3. I will need my EAD to continue working here. So, should my current employer apply for EAD? Or is it something I should apply on my own?

  4. What is the procedure to apply for EAD?

  5. What is the fee for EAD?

  6. Can I go on “no pay” leave with my current employer after my COS is approved and start working for the same employer after my EAD arrives? Or should I quit my job with the current employer.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
