Primary applicant switch to AP , then what will be dependents status?

Hi,

The primary applicant’s EAD and AP have been approved, but for the dependents only the EAD has been approved.

Can the primary applicant switch to the EAD and start working using it? If so, will the dependents lose their H-4 status?
