Passport has maiden name but rest of the document with new surname after wedding

Hi,

I’ve H1B Visa and I’m going to get my passport stamping in coming November’17

I’ve few following queries:

  1. My wife is holding passport before marriage & so with her before marriage details in her passport, but now other than passport, all her documents like Pan card, bank account, Aadhaar card have new surname updated. we also have our marriage certificate in which her new surname is mentioned.

Is it mandatory to get her surname updated in passport as well or the proofs we have are sufficient enough to get her H4 Visa approved?

  1. Do I also need to get her name added in my passport.

  2. Do we need to get our marital status updated in our passports?
