Passport give to reissue, can I apply for H1B

I have applied for passport reissue (which has another 6 months validity). Passport office has cancelled that passport and said that they will reissue new one.

So, now - can i apply for H1B processing with my old passport?

to get new passport, how many days they will take?

Your new passport will have a new number so that needs to be used for your H1B application.

You should track the status of your passport application online. Typically police verification would take a week and you would receive the new passport the next week.
