My employer filed h1b and it has been approved. I’m planning to go for stamping in another few weeks. The problem was I have lost my original degree certificates yesterday and I’m holding only xerox copies of my original certificates.
Can I attend h1b interview by showing xerox copies of my original documents?
Xerox copies should be fine. In fact there are very rare chances that consular ask for Degree Certificates. But on safer side carry xerox copy. Good Luck.
John’s answer is correct. Consulate officers don’t care for India generated documents. Your employer has offered you the job and that closes any debate on your degree paperwork
