New H1B passport expiring soon

Hello,

I am currently on L1 Visa and thinking to switch to H1 on 2015 cycle. My passport is exipring in January 2015. If I don't get my passport renewed before April 2014 and go ahead with current passport on H1 cycle, what would be validity of my H1 ? What process do I need to follow for H1/I-94 extension once I get new passport ?

Just 6 months of validity is enuf for any visa…

If needed U can get it renewd now only in Indian Embassy ASAP

You will get new I-94 valid only until passport expiration date. Once you get the passport renewed, you will have to file for I-94 change at local CBP office or w/ USCIS.

If you get the passport renewed before April, then you will get H-1 I-94 for the correct entire duration.
