Need Urgent Help...

Hello All,

In my Passport I’ve Given Name as “Kumar Abhishek” and Surname is Blank, however in my H1B Petition the First Name is “Kumar” and Last Name is “Abhishek”. Does this make a difference while I’ll appear for H1B visa interview if I get selected in the lottery. If not can someone please suggest the remedies which I need to follow. Since I’m from India, correction in Passport (in accordance to my H1B petition) will be change in my Passport Number as well. Does that make any difference at the time of Visa Interview, because in my Petition there will still be my Old Passport Number. Please suggest right course of action here.

This is not a problem. Your records will be under Abhishek and not Kumar in USCIS files. If Kumar is your last name, make sure employment related documents and drivers license etc reflect the name correctly. No changes are needed at passport level.
