Need clarity on the process? Please guide me

I am waiting for my wife H1B approval. She will be comming here end of this month on H4.

Questions:

  1. If She got the H1B approval notice before she reached? She will have to file change of status in order to work here or she will automatically transfered from h4 to h1?

  2. What if she got the approval next month i.e. she will be in USA on H4 status. Now what procedure will have to follow to change her status to H1?

  3. Can she start work from the same day when she got the approval notice or she will have to wait till OCT?

  4. How soon she can apply for SSN?

  1. She can go for Stamping and enter US, COS is only possible if she is in US

  2. COS is needed, else she must go out of country to get stamped and come back again

  3. Can Work only from OCT

  4. She can apply for SSN before a week of job start date
