Name order mismatch in passport and petition document

Hi,

Name in the passport is given as :

Given name : xxxx yyyy

Surname:zzzz

In the visa petition document it is given as : yyyy xxxx zzzz

Note: in ds-160 I have mentioned the name as given in the passport only.

Will this cause any problem during stamping which is due next week?

It would be great if anyone can answer this query as my visa interview is due next week…

You will be issued visa as per the petition. However, in the long run it is better to get it corrected. If the passport has the correct names, then get the petition and visa stamp corrected. Else, get the passport corrected.

Thanks for the clarification saurabh…
Will I be able to get it corrected in the petition document after stamping …or I need to get it done before that as my interview is due next week…

You should ask your attorney about it. Personally, I would have preferred petition correction followed by visa stamping. I know petition can be corrected even after you have got the visa approved, but I don’t know what’s the process to get visa stamp corrected thereafter.
