My H1B is pending, can wife apply for H4?

Hello,

I appeared for my H1B visa interview two days ago in Chennai, India and was given a pink slip. I was told by the visa officer that my visa application is in order but it needs to be reviewed. No additional documents have been requested.

My wife has a visa appointment in about 10 days. My question is whether it is okay for her to appear for the interview. Should we cancel her appointment and wait till my H1B is approved.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would say there is a 50-50 chance of her visa getting approved or put into pending status based on your pink slip.
