Master's with a thesis track or a non-thesis track?

Hello redbus2US,

My Program is a MIS program offering us the option of doing a thesis(3 credits of research and 50 page thesis document) or sitting for a comprehensive exam. Most students, do choose the exam. I’ve been thinking of choosing the thesis option. Is a master’s thesis and research particularly hard, becuase of which most students take the exam? Any comments? My goal is to go back to work in the Technolgy industry.

Yes, it can be hard. Typically, the expectations of the professor for thesis is higher and it should be focused on research. Well, it is a choice, thesis helps you in PhD as it can make your profile better…it is your preference, you can opt for non-thesis, if you just need the degree…
