I was on F1 visa till May,2020 and came to India in Nov,2020. I got married 3 years ago. Now, I applied for H4 Visa. My consular interview is scheduled this month.
I couldn’t find my marriage certificate. Can you please let me know if I need an original marriage certificate for the Visa interview?
Registrar office can provide an attested copy [with the picture of my spouse and my signatures in the register]. But that does look like the original. Can you please let me know if that works?
You can take the attested copy as it is approved by the Registrar office.
Make sure you also carry photographs of your marriage. In case if you have a xerox of your original marriage cert. that adds value too…
