L2 to H4 Conversion

Till what time can a L2 Visa holder can work if the primary visa holders status has been changed to H1b?

My spouse in L1B visa and applied for H1b, and it has been approved by USCIS. Currently, I’m working in L2 EAD.

  1. Can I work till he received the H1B petition approval letter?
  2. Until I apply for H4 and receive the receipt number?
  3. Until I receive H4 approval notice?

Please clarify.

You can work on L2 Until the day your spouse’s status changes to H1B. Usually, if they applied for Change of Status, then it would change on October 1st, so you cannot work after that date. Getting a receipt number is not relevant, your Spouse’s status is the key one as your status is also tied to that status.
