Job change after I-140 approval

Hi,

Currently I am on H1B visa, completed 6+ years. My I-140 got approved in 2015 having priority date of June 2015. I have been with the same employer so far. My recent H1B extension got approved last month, got extension till June 2019.

Now, I am planning to change the employer. What all things my new employer needs to take care of before my current H1B expires (i.e. June 2019) so that my H1B status doesn’t jeopardize?

They have to port I-140 once you move (you will still retain the PD)

Does new employer have to go through whole process again (i.e. PERM Filing + I 140 approval) or shorter process than original one? What is the apprx duration to port I-140 to new employer?

Yes, has to go thru all the process again.
