Can you confirm if Indian Passport holder with valid J1 Visa travel to USA in July end or August for their training program starting in Sept 2021
Please go through the below excerpts from the link
Individual NIE for J-1 students, J-1 academics in the professor, research scholar, short-term scholar, or specialist categories, and ECFMG-sponsored J-1 physicans .
The June 24, 2021 statement places “exchange students and academics (certain J visas to include those in the professor, research scholar, short-term scholar, or specialist categories),” as well as “Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) J visa program participants,” among the categories of travelers who “may apply for a National Interest Exception (NIE) if subject to one or more of the four proclamations.” These J exchange visitors do not benefit from a blanket NIE, so they must obtain an individual NIE from a U.S. consulate before traveling to the United States regardless of whether they have a valid J-1 visa.
- August 1, 2021/30-day condition for J-1 students and academics who were present in China, Brazil, Iran, South Africa, or India . In the June 24, 2021 statement, after establishing the individual NIE requirement for “exchange students and academics (certain J visas to include those in the professor, research scholar, short-term scholar, or specialist categories),” DOS provides that “new or returning students and academics present in China, Brazil, Iran, South Africa, or India may arrive no earlier than 30 days before the start of an academic program beginning August 1, 2021 or after.” J-1 physicians sponsored by the ECFMG and J-1 students and academics who were present only in the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, or Ireland are not subject to the August 1 condition.
Thanks Kalpesh… Wanted a clarification about J1 Visa Holders. We have quite a few J1 Visa holders whose internship and training is Starting in September and they would like to travel to USA in August. Can you please confirm if these J1 Interns who have done Hotel Management and have got their J1 Visas for a year, can these students travel to USA without NIE.
Regards

I gave an interview for usa J1 Visa, a nie exemption form was given to me by the consulate so by when can I expect the confirmation email from the embassy regarding the same to submit the documents? Or am I even eligible for the same?
