Is NIE letter Mandatory for H1b Drop Box

Hi All,

I had my h1b drop box appointment today and i did not submitted my NIE letter, will my visa get rejected due to this ??

Requirement for NIE should no more apply to H1B after November 8th . See below for updates on PP.

Thanks for your quick response, yes this rule will apply after 8th of November but i went to stamping on Oct 28th and i did not submitted my NIE and the officer who was collecting my documents asked me to write a letter to US consulate that i am not submitting my NIE letter and in that letter i have stated that i will be traveling to US after Nov 8th and i am fully vaccinated. So now i am worried that will my visa get rejected or will i get any 22g for not submitting the NIE letter.
