is it okay for H1B holder to be on indian salary

I worked in US for a year and was getting a US salary as it should be. Now I am out of project. My employer is suggesting me to go to India and they will process my payroll from their indian office and I will be paid in Indian rupees. I will be back in US after I get a project.

My question is - is it okay for an H1b holder to be on india payroll for few months?

if ur not in US your payroll does not matter

It must not be a Problem, however when u r back in US, U must provide the appropriate reasons and supporting docs at POE if asked
