I want to know is there any concept like L1B Visa extension? Or is it just an I94 extension? My L1B is expiring in April 2013, so just wanted to know about the extension process. Is there anything like L1B Visa extension, or is it just an I94 extension?

When you apply for extension, if approved, you will get a new I-94 with a new validity date. I-94 End Date is the last date till when you are legally allowed to stay in US. Visa End Date is last date till when you are legally allowed to enter US. AFAIK the L1B extension will get you a new I94 card as well as the new I797 form.
Also, I have seen instances when 797 doesn’t carry any expiration date. In that case, a person can continue to stay and work on the basis of I-94.
