Is it good to go for H1B amendment with new role just before stamping.

Hi All,

I am working as a direct employee of a company ABC. Next month, i’m planning to visit India and need to go for H1b extn stamping. I filled Individual Contributor as my present role in DS-160. My I140 got approved and still i am under initial 6 years H1b period

Last week, i got promotion to managerial role from Individual contributor role and still have to apply for H1b amendment.

In this situation:

  1. Can i go for stamping with existing IC role and start the H1b amendment process once i am back

or,

  1. Can i start the amendment process now and go for H1b stamping with IC role.

Please suggest the different options. Usually, how long does the H1b amendment process take?
