Is I-797 document mandatory to carry for visa interview

Hi,

My H1B case is approved on 01.12.2015. I have scheduled interview in January. I didn’t receive my I-797 form. Is this mandatory to carry to the interview. Whom can I ask for this document?

Please help me out.

Your employer should have received approved 797. They should share it w/ you and you should carry it to the consulate for interview.
