My passport is expiring in Dec 2013. I am planning to apply for H1B in April 2013. Will my passport expiration have impact on my VISA? Will i be issued VISA only for the period my passport is valid?
Your passport will be valid for at most 3 months when you become eligible to travel to US (i.e in Oct 2013). So passport renewal needs to be filed.
You can file the petition now w/ current passport, apply for passport renewal and then go for stamping w/ new passport.
