[214(g)/I have a U.S. B1/B2 visa valid until December 2024. I read about the U.S. visa drop-off facility and opted for it. I applied and submitted my passport at the Ahmedabad VFS on July 23, 2024. After 11 days, I received my passport along with a white paper under Section 221(g), stating that my application was refused and instructing me to appear for an interview on any working day at the Delhi Embassy. I went to the Delhi Embassy on September 6, 2024, despite heavy rain. I reached the gate at 8:00 AM, and the whole process was completed in 45 minutes. After a security check, I was sent inside. I sat on a chair with others, and then they directed me to Window No. 1. At this window, a lady speaking in Hindi checked my passport and asked me to wait at Window No. 23. At Window No. 23, an officer interviewed me for nearly 8–10 minutes. The questions were as follows: He asked me to give my passport. I handed it over. Why are you going to the U.S., and where will you stay? I replied that I wanted to visit my maternal aunt and go sightseeing. I mentioned that I would stay with my cousin. He asked about my previous trips. Why did you visit Afghanistan? Which cities did you visit, and where did you stay? I answered that I went there for tourism. He seemed surprised and said, “For tourism?” I confirmed. I mentioned that I visited Kabul, Kandahar, and Bamiyan, staying at hotels during my solo trip. I also explained that my English is poor. He kindly said, “No problem, please speak in Hindi,” and spoke good Hindi himself. How did you travel to Afghanistan? Did you get a visa? How? I explained that I obtained a visa from the Afghan embassy in the UAE. What about your visit to Lebanon? Where did you go? I mentioned that I visited Beirut for five days. He then asked me to wait while they conducted further inquiries. I was sent to Window No. 26. At Window No. 26, a lady officer asked for my passport, checked her computer, and then took out a white paper. I thought she had rejected my application, but she said, “You will receive an email with Form DS-5535. Please respond to the email. After receiving your reply, we will review it and decide.” She returned my passport along with the white paper showing my case number and date. My interview ended around 8:45 AM (approximately 45 minutes in total). Follow-Up Steps: On the same day, I received an email from the embassy with Form DS-5535, which requested detailed information. I completed the form, listing all my trips with dates, places, purposes, and travel companions. I also provided details of my family and siblings, social media handles, and occupation, including phone numbers and addresses. I emailed the completed form on September 20, 2024. On October 7, 2024, I received an email with a 214(b) letter stating that I had been found ineligible for a non-immigrant visa under Section 214(b).)
