I am holding H1B visa and currently in USA on an assignment going to end on 31st March 2017. My visa is however valid till 22nd August 2017. My employer has filed an extension petition for me but it’s still not filed with USCIS. Can I still travel back to India on 31st and complete rest of the process from there? Please assist

If your employer got the extension of SOW then you can continue working there till August and you can get the extension on VISA meantime. If you come back then you have to go through the same process which you have done earlier except the lottery.

Thanks Reddysree. But I just wanted to know if I can complete the extension process from India (Petition is not filed with USCIS yet and I will be leaving for India on 31st march).
