I-94 Extension Process

Hi ,

I have H1-B visa till Jun 2017. My passport is going to expire on Feb-2016. So i got I-94 for feb-2016 only. Now i’m going to extend my passport.

I’m not sure how to update i-94. Please share me the process to extend i-94.

You have two options

  1. cross US border and enter back with the approved and valid visa (not just valid I-129 is enough, your stamped visa must be valid at the time of your entry into US).

  2. (recommended) to file a H1 extension which gives an updated I-94 along with it.
