I-94 and petition expires by oct '13. Can i extend my visa from USA?

Hi,

I got my new H1b visa stamped on Jan 2013. Currently I am in USA.

I-94, h1b visa and petition expires by october 2013. Can i extend my visa from USA or

do i need to go back to India for extn? Please let me know the details.

You can apply for extn while you are in USA. But if you go to India after visa expiry and with just new H1B papers, you will have to get it stamped before entering US again
