How easy is it for mechanical engineers to convert L1B to H1B visa??

Hii,

I work for US based mechanical engineering company in India and they have sent me to USA for 2 years expat assignment on L1B visa.

I don’t have any bond with the company.

So I want to know, how easy is it for mechanical engineers to find H1B sponsor and convert from L1B visa to H1B visa?

I heard that it is hard for mechanical engineers to find H1B sponsor in USA, Is that true?

What are other options to get H1B visa or for staying longer in USA?

It depends on the sub-specialty of your mechanical engineering degree. Mechanical engineers from certain parts of the world are welcomed here; it all depends on what your interest area is.
