How does self sponsorship Visitor visa work?

I am on OPT and my parents wish to visit USA. I know they can sponsor themselves.

  1. Do I have to send an Invitation letter?

  2. What all documents are needed for self sponsorship?

  1. Yes, it will help in supporting their reason for visiting US

  2. They need to demonstrate social and financial ties to home country. For financial ties, it is good to show funds through bank statements or tax returns. For social ties, no documents required per se but they should let VO know about any kids and family in home country. They also need to show funds to show that they would be able to take care of their expenses in US
