H4 to F1 COS withdrawal - I20 - Study in US?

Anyone here has applied for h4 to f1 COS withdrawal? Please share how long it takes to get the acknowledgment? Do universities only provide a new i20 once we get acknowledgement from the university that COS withdrawal has been accepted and processed?

Also does anyone know the COS processing times in California centre. We applied on June 20th. When can we expect a decision?

Withdrawal takes time, can be few weeks to few months…hard to give any timeline as there is no SLA.

I am assuming you are going to continue on H4 and not going to do COS to F1. No, they give I-20 only if you are going to need F1 visa. If you are going to study on H4, then you dont need I-20.
