H4 to F1 Conversion,study during H4 status

Hi,

My husband will be travelling to US on H4 in May.He want to do MS after coming here.

1)How much time it will take to convert H4 to F1?
2)Can he start going to college in H4 status.Once H4 to F1 COS is completed can he continue studying with F1 Visa,so that there is no need for him to sit idle in COS time.
3)Can he eligible for OPT if he studies with H4 visa?

  1. COS processing time is 2-3 months

  2. Yes

  3. No OPT if he studies on H-4. He needs to be on F-1 for at least 1 year before applying for OPT.
