H4 to F1 conversion and H4 extention

I’m on H4. My current I94 is till 30-Dec-2013. I’am interested in studying MS here ,so planning to apply for COS from H4 to F1.

My question is if I apply extension for H4 visa ( as I need to start processing of extension 5 months before) , if I get COS to F1 accepted before that , will by F1 status will be override by H4 extension.



 



Please suggest , if I can go ahead with both ( extension of H4 and also COS from H4 to F1) .

There is “Last Action Rule”, which states that the petition approved later will determine your eventual status. So if F-1 gets approved and you want to move to that status, then you should withdraw H-4 extension petition.
