H4 extension

Hi,
I have applied for my spouse H4 EAD and it is still in process. Meanwhile, my H1B and her H4 will be expiring in January 2017. Can I go ahead and apply for an extension for both - my H1B and my spouse H4? Is it going to affect the H4 EAD process? Or should I wait to apply for the extension until the EAD is approved??

Her EAD would only be approved until current H4 I94 expiration date. So if you want to get EAD for an extended period then apply for H1 and H4 extensions and maybe either reapply for EAD extension or send a letter for old EAD receipt asking them to consider the extension petition’s dates.
